Today I tried the IdealLean Raspberry Lemonade BCAAs, which I drank during and after my workout.
First of all, you may be wondering what BCAAs are.
BCAAs are Branched-Chain Amino Acids. They’re meant to be taken during and after your workout so that they can:
- Support muscle growth.
- Delay fatigue.
- Support strength and mental focus. (1)
All of these things are great when you are lifting heavy weights!
The directions on the back of the packaging say to use one scoop with 8-16oz of liquid.
I have a small blender bottle that only holds 12oz of liquid so I filled it up with water and added one scoop.
My first impression when I took a drink during my workout was that it was very sweet. However, the taste itself was not bad! I liked the flavor.
I drank a bit and then added some more water to water it down a bit more, which helped.
I think this is just a matter of preference. I need to get a bigger blender bottle!
The taste itself was good, minus being too sweet.
It did not cause my heart rate to go up or cause me to be jittery.
I did not feel fatigued during my workout, so it seemed to do the job it was intended to do!
The very sweet taste, even with 12oz of water, which is 4oz more than their minimum recommendation. But again, I think this is personal preference.
