Peanut Butter Vanilla Oats

We all know the benefits of eating oatmeal for breakfast: it’s a good source of fiber, it’s full of antioxidants, and it can lower cholesterol levels. If you’re anything like me, though, the thought of a bowl of plain oatmeal for breakfast is not very appealing. So, I try to come up with some other flavors I can add to this boring bowl to make it just a little tastier. Below is one of my favorite combinations for breakfast, or even an afternoon stack.


  • 3/4 c. Old-Fashioned Oats
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/2 c. 2% Milk
  • 1 T Vanilla Extract or Flavoring

Top with:

  • 1 T Honey
  • 1 T Peanut Butter

I prefer to mix it all up and eat cold, but you can also microwave for 2 minutes to create your traditional bowl of oatmeal!

If you’re looking for something a little lower calorie than this, feel free to drop the peanut butter or replace milk with water. If you do replace milk with water, it will probably be better heated than cold!
