Chicken Tacos Recipe

Last night we had the most delicious Chicken Tacos for dinner.

When I make tacos, I don’t usually follow a set recipe. I just find all the spices I like and toppings I want and get to work!

But I want to break down how I made mine and include the nutrition facts for you!

First, I put 1/2 a tablespoon of Canola Oil in a frying pan on Medium heat. While it was heating up, I seasoned 5 oz of raw chicken tenders with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, and cayenne pepper (I like to use A LOT of spices). Once the pan was hot, I put them in and covered with a lid. I let the tenders cook for about 7-8 minutes on each side without taking the lid off except to flip them, and then a remaining 2-3 minutes on each side again. This should get them to done, but slice one open and check just to be sure. Once cooked, chop up into 1-inch cubes.

While the chicken cooked, I heat up one can of black beans in a small pot on the stove until they were hot and steaming.

I chopped up my favorite taco toppings: red bell pepper, green onion, cilantro & limes.

I heat up 2 small white corn tortillas in a pan on the stove until warm and soft (Medium heat should do it).

Then, build your tacos!

Also, I made my husband a burrito instead of tacos!

After adding his filling, I wrapped it up and browned each side in the frying pan with a little butter.
